Cause
The Victoria Community Food Hub Society is a charity that promotes a healthy and sustainable food system on Southern Vancouver Island. The South Island FarmHub brings fresh food from local farms and food processors to families' homes, charity organizations, and schools. The Farmbucks program deeply subsidizes the bounty from the FarmHub’s online farmers market to increase access for meal and food hamper programs supporting vulnerable community members. In 2022, Farmbucks provided over $110,000 to 10 charities and 6 schools, feeding over 15,000 people. This program serves a triple-win: making healthy, local food more accessible, supporting local farmers and food producers, and closing the loop on hunger.
